COURSES

Transpersonal Therapies offers a variety of courses, including two courses in mindfulness and, plus occasional workshops.

Integral Mindfulness – An Introduction (8 weeks).
An 8-week course to introduce you to the benefits of mindfulness and help you establish a daily contemplative practice. An integral approach synthesises science, psychology and spiritualty whilst remaining open and inclusive to all. The course integrates elements from mindfulness-based stress-reduction, cognitive-therapy and compassion-focused courses to offer a more complete experience.

Beyond Mindfulness – Deepening Your Practice (8 weeks).
This course is for anyone who has already undertaken an introductory mindfulness course and wishes to revisit and/or deepen their practice. It will include a variety of body/mind practices (e.g. TRE®, Breathwork, Sound-Healing) and integrate insights from wisdom traditions, esotericism and transpersonal psychology; it is particularly suitable for anybody seeking greater self-understanding and/or wishes to further integrate experiences from their previous inner-work.

The Soul's Journey (1 weekend a month, 9 months).
This course integrates mindfulness and experiential learning with an exploration of the soul's journey from incarnation, through childhood and adolescence to midlife and death/re-birth. It will include a variety of body/mind practices (e.g. Holotropic Breathwork) and insights from wisdom traditions, esotericism, sovereignty and transpersonal psychology. An aim of the course is to make psychoeducation and therapeutic learning accessible.

Take5 Mindfulness provides a training programme for educators and/or parents wishing to teach young people a 5-step meditation practice. Please contact Edward if you or your school/college would like to receive this training.

Course Features

What is an Integral approach?

These courses draw upon Mindfulness-based stress-reduction, cognitive therapy and self-compassion variations. More deeply, they draw upon both science and spirituality. Care is taken to create a space where all experience is valid. Alongside wisdom traditions, the theoretical components draw upon the latest research in humanistic and transpersonal psychology in particular.

Which course is for me?

The introductory course is open to all adults. The deepening your practice course is for adults who have already experienced an introductory Mindfulness course. The Soul's Journey course offers yet deeper learning.

Mindfulness and other forms of meditation are safe and associated with numerous health and spiritual benefits. Current research indicates that all forms of meditation may be unwise for people with some mental health difficulties and/or those who are suffering from recent trauma or bereavement . Please contact me if you wish to discuss whether now is the right time for you to participate.

What should I expect?

Each weekly session will include some theoretical teaching content, at least two guided meditations and a period of inquiry. The inquiry process creates a space to reflect upon and share your experience, often deepening the learning. You should be able to commit to attending the whole course and practising meditation for 20-40 mins, 6 days a week.

What's included?

Every participant receives a course booklet, set of audio meditation files, an integration diary, completion certificate and a one-to-one tutorial.
